Hear that?
Gelato is calling ... and no, not just any gelato, but REAL authentic Sicilian gelato!
Mizzica brings Sicilian sweetness and decadent nostalgic tradition to the heart of downtown Toronto.

Mizzica Gelateria & Cafe is a unique spot on McCaul St. in Toronto serving authentic Sicilian gelato and desserts perfect to satisfy all of your little sweet tooth cravings.
With vegan and lactose-free options, this spot invites just about anyone and their dietary preferences in for a sweet, worry-free treat.
After finding this hidden spot on Instagram, I came to learn just how much I was missing as an ice cream lover myself.
First of all, their Instagram sets a high standard -- aesthetic-wise -- for all those ice cream content creators out there. Take a look at their page and let me know if you think it tastes as good as it looks!
Here you will find authentic Sicilian gelato flavours like pistachio, nocciola (hazelnut), limone (lemon), zuppa inglese (English trifle) and a variety of fruity sorbetto's (sorbet). With so many options of fully loaded flavour combinations, you’ll surely find a flavour or combo that you love -- and I can assure you that you won’t go back for the same one. You’ll be tempted to try them all!
The consistency and quality of the milk and cream, combined with the decadent aromatic flavour mixes, toppings and garnishing, made my Mizzica experience a HIGH quality one.
While achieving the perfect creaminess, consistency and texture with plant-based milk and cream alternatives is not always easy to do, Mizzica, in my lactose-free opinion, found the perfect recipe for Vegan Gelato perfection.
Dark Chocolate and Banana
*Dark Chocolate: 8.5/10
*Banana: 9/10
*Together: 10/10
I love this combo in general, but the flavouring of both of them at Mizzica was uniquely and surprisingly different to me. The chocolate was not bitter, but also not overly sweet. It was neutral but still creamy and delicious. I actually found that the banana flavour had a natural richness, and not like the artificially-sweet aftertaste found in most commercial ice creams. This naturally fruity banana flavour elevated the chocolate flavour when eaten together.
I loved this combination especially because it was also surprisingly VEGAN!
Great gelato + plant-based + worry-free = my best friend.
Let me know your verdict when you try this hidden gem for yourself!
Until my next dose of YUM,
xx Sab
